The Mass Media Support and Development Foundation announces a competitionfor the best lyrics to Eduard Khil’s vocalise which has become famous under the name of «Trololo».

The Competition is being held in the only nomination group – a stanza of lyrics to the tune of “Vocalise” by Arkady Ostrovsky.

The subject of a stanza is at its author’s choosing, reflecting his own view of life.

The Competition is all-comers, irrespective of age and nationality.

Stanzas written either by a single author or by a group of authors are receivable, co-authorship is allowed.

Competition submissions should be made by e-mail trololo@baltinfo.ru . The e-mail must also contain the full name(s) of the author(s) and his/her/their e-mail and phone contacts.

Criteria for judging lyrics submitted are

– Original creative approach in the treatment of the subject;

– Choice of the plot;

– Literary style.

Competition submissions are being received during a month, June 1 - June 30, 2010. At the end of every week lyrics submitted in this period of time will be published on the Web site of the Baltic Information Agency, www.baltInfo.ru.

All the lyrics submitted will be judged by the Competition Jury which members are poets, composers and representatives of Consulates General in St. Petersburg. Mr. Eduard Khil is the Chairman of the Jury.

The best stanzas, written in various languages of the world, will be combined to form a common song, a unique “Anthem of Planet Earth”.

The final results of the Competition and the names of the winners will be announced in the middle of August, 2010.
